Ram Pothineni Announces Directorial Debut with Repo23 on His Birthday

Mumbai, May 15: Actor Ram Pothineni is set to make his directorial debut after establishing himself in acting and singing. On his birthday, he shared the exciting news via social media, revealing that he will take on the role of director for his upcoming film.

In a stunning Instagram post, Ram introduced his character ‘Veera’ from the film. The poster showcases a dark, intense atmosphere, featuring Ram in a leather jacket, with his striking V-cut hairstyle enhancing the character’s bold persona.

He captioned the post, “An exciting journey begins with all your love and blessings. Meet Veera in Repo23—a story of a ‘lone wolf’.”

He further elaborated, “Genre: Psychological action thriller. Written and directed by me. Produced by Krishna Pothineni under Repo Cinematics. Releasing in December 2026.”

Notably, Ram surprised audiences by lending his voice in his previous film, ‘Andhra King Taluka,’ where he also ventured into songwriting. Now, he steps into the director’s role for the first time, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Repo23 will be produced by Krishna Pothineni under his newly established banner, Repo Cinematics. This move places Ram among a select group of stars who transitioned into directing, following in the footsteps of legends like Senior NTR, Krishna, and Pawan Kalyan.

Ram Pothineni is a highly popular and energetic actor in Telugu cinema, affectionately known as the ‘Energetic Star’ by fans. Renowned for his exceptional dance, powerful action, and romantic roles, he has starred in numerous blockbuster films. Coming from a film family, his father, Murali Mohan Pothineni, is a producer, and his uncle, ‘Shravanthi Ravi Kishore,’ is a well-known producer.

At just 11 years old, Ram played a drug addict in the Tamil short film ‘Adayalam,’ earning the Best Actor award at the European Film Festival for his performance.
