Rajat Patidar Treats IPL 2026 Final as Just Another Match

Ahmedabad, May 31: The IPL 2026 final is set to feature a showdown between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) this Sunday. Ahead of this crucial match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar stated that he plans to approach the final like any other game.

Under Patidar’s leadership, RCB has reached the IPL final for the second consecutive year. The Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the title clash. Last season, RCB ended an 18-year trophy drought by clinching their first IPL title at this very venue.

In a video shared on RCB’s social media account ‘X’, Patidar expressed, “It feels great to be in back-to-back finals, especially at the same ground. There are many memories from last year. This is a final, a big stage, but for me, it’s just another match.”

He added, “I prefer to treat big matches as normal games. I always try to stay present and not think too far ahead about the final or what might happen. I focus on the present and not the outcome.”

RCB has been one of the standout teams in IPL 2026, finishing the league stage with 9 wins out of 14 matches. The team started their campaign with impressive victories over Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Punjab Kings, while also navigating through challenging phases during the tournament.

Patidar credited the collective effort of the team for reaching the finals again. He remarked, “We should be proud of how we have played in this tournament. Everyone has made their mark and contributed to the team, which is a positive sign.”
