The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has predicted a new weather system to become active in the state starting January 22, potentially causing rainfall in northeastern districts.

A yellow alert has been issued for 24 districts due to fog and for 4 districts experiencing cold wave conditions on Friday.

In the past 24 hours, parts of Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions experienced cloudy skies and light fog in the morning, reducing sunlight intensity. Northern and eastern districts, including Sikar, Churu, Ganganagar, and Jaipur, were gripped by cold winds, causing a sharp drop in maximum daytime temperatures.

  • Ganganagar and Hanumangarh recorded the lowest maximum temperatures of 13.4°C to 13.6°C, as dense fog persisted throughout the day.
  • Baran and Karauli also experienced biting cold, with maximum temperatures at 14.9°C.

  • Barmer was the warmest district, recording a maximum temperature of 25.4°C.
