Jaipur, March 18: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is set to kick off on March 28, and ahead of the season, Rajasthan Royals launched their new jersey on Wednesday. The unveiling featured the new captain Riyan Parag, young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.
The 2008 IPL champions announced the launch on Instagram, showcasing a blend of blue and pink colors in the new design. Accompanying the images, Rajasthan Royals captioned, “New look, same roar. Jersey: launched.”
Rajasthan Royals will begin their campaign against five-time champions Chennai Super Kings on March 30 at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.
The team will play their first three home matches in Guwahati, which serves as their alternate home ground. Dates for matches at their primary venue, Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, will be determined once the BCCI releases the schedule for the remaining tournament matches.
The clash against Chennai Super Kings promises to be thrilling, as Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran will face their former team while representing Rajasthan Royals. Following this match, the Royals will head to Ahmedabad for their first away game against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium on April 4.
After that, Rajasthan Royals will return to Guwahati to host five-time champions Mumbai Indians on April 7 and the current champions Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 10.
With three of their first four matches at home, Rajasthan Royals aim to gain an early advantage. Last season was disappointing for the team, finishing ninth with only four wins out of 14 matches.
Riyan Parag, 24, took over as captain after Sanju Samson was traded to Chennai Super Kings. In exchange, Jadeja and Curran joined Rajasthan Royals. Parag had briefly captained the team during the 2025 season when Samson missed eight matches due to injury, but the team managed only two wins under his leadership.
