Jaipur, June 20: In a decisive action against drug trafficking and organized crime, Barmer police demolished the alleged illegal residence of a key suspect involved in the production of MD (Mephedrone) drugs on Friday.
This operation was conducted under ‘Operation Clean’, a collaborative effort involving the police, district administration, and revenue department.
The initiative was launched following directives from Rajasthan’s Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma and the Inspector General (IG) of the Jodhpur range.
Authorities targeted a permanent residential house built on government land in the Singhar village area of the Sedwa police station jurisdiction.
Barmer Superintendent of Police (SP) Chunararam Jat reported that the property belonged to Arbab Khan, the son of Musa Khan, who had previously been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act related to an illegal MD drug manufacturing unit. His son, Kareem Khan, remains a wanted suspect in the same case.
According to police officials, the accused had constructed an opulent house by illegally occupying government land.
After the Sedwa Station House Officer (SHO) identified the encroachment, a formal proposal for demolition was submitted to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), who subsequently issued the order for its removal.
In compliance with the orders, a joint team of police and administration, equipped with adequate security measures, arrived in Singhar village and utilized JCB machines and bulldozers for the demolition.
The operation was overseen by a special police team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nitesh Arya, with support from Circle Officer Chhotan Jetharam and Sedwa SHO Prabhu Ram.
The demolition was conducted in the presence of Sedwa SDM Badrinarayan, Tehsildar Jotaram Meena, Sub-Tehsildar Mahendra Singh, Assistant Development Officer Prahladram Pawar, and other revenue and local administration officials.
SP Chunararam Jat emphasized that the district police will continue to take stringent action against drug traffickers and criminals involved in organized crime. He added that efforts are being made not only to arrest offenders but also to identify and act against properties allegedly created through illegal activities.
