Rajasthan: Investigation Ordered After Woman Dies Post-C-Section in Kota

Kota, May 7: In a troubling incident at the New Medical College Hospital in Kota, one of six women who underwent a cesarean delivery has died, while the remaining five are under close observation. In response, the Rajasthan government has established a specialized medical board and ordered a high-level investigation into the matter.

The state government is taking the report of deteriorating health among women receiving post-delivery care very seriously. Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar has intervened, directing a comprehensive inquiry into the situation.

A team of four expert doctors from Sawai Mansingh Medical College in Jaipur has been dispatched to Kota to assess the patients’ conditions and provide treatment. This team includes specialists in anesthesia, medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and nephrology.

According to officials, these experts will not only assist in treatment but also evaluate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Gaayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Medical Education Department, stated that all affected women have been admitted to the Super Specialty Hospital in Kota, where they are receiving care under expert supervision.

She emphasized that the patients’ conditions are being monitored continuously, and all necessary medical facilities are being provided. The Rajasthan government has mandated a timely and thorough investigation to uncover the causes of this incident. Officials have been instructed to ensure complete transparency and accountability throughout the investigation process.

The government has warned that if any negligence or error in treatment is found, strict action will be taken against those responsible, in accordance with regulations. Additionally, necessary corrective measures will be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.
