Rajasthan High Court Grants Relief to Hanuman Beniwal in Nagaur FIR Case
The Rajasthan High Court has halted strict actions against MP Hanuman Beniwal in an FIR related to a political rally in Nagaur.

Jaipur, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : The Rajasthan High Court’s Jodhpur bench has provided relief to Hanuman Beniwal, a Member of Parliament from Nagaur. The court has issued an order preventing any stringent actions against him concerning an FIR filed at the Kuchera police station in Nagaur district.
This directive came from Justice Farzand Ali during a hearing of Beniwal’s petition challenging the ongoing actions against him. The court emphasized that peaceful protests are an integral part of democratic rights. It has also sought responses from the Rajasthan government and police, scheduling the next hearing for three weeks later.
The case is linked to a political rally held in Kuchera during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Allegations arose that the rally violated prohibitory orders imposed by the administration at that time. An FIR was registered on May 4, 2024, based on a complaint filed by Sub-Inspector Mukesh Kumar at the Kuchera police station.
The charges listed in the FIR include unlawful assembly, disobedience to orders issued by a public servant, and creating obstruction or danger on public roads.
During the proceedings, Beniwal’s lawyers argued that the case pertains to a political protest and does not involve any allegations of violence or damage to public or private property. They contended that the protest was part of a political activity during the election period and requested relief from strict actions related to the FIR.
After considering the arguments, the High Court granted interim protection to Hanuman Beniwal and sought replies from state government and police officials. The court’s remark that peaceful protests are a part of democratic rights is significant. However, the proceedings are still ongoing, and this order serves as interim relief rather than a final decision.
