Rajasthan Congress Celebrates Kerala Victory, Criticizes BJP for Misuse of Agencies

Jaipur, May 5: The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) welcomed the party’s return to power in Kerala after a decade on Tuesday. They also launched a strong attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly misusing institutions during the recent assembly elections across five states.

Addressing the media in Jaipur, RPCC President Govind Singh Dotasra stated that the decisive victory of the Congress-led coalition in Kerala is a result of the continuous efforts of party leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, and Priyanka Gandhi.

He alleged that despite adverse conditions and pressure, Congress workers remained committed, leading to the party’s impressive performance in Kerala.

While discussing the West Bengal elections, Dotasra accused the electoral process of irregularities and claimed that democratic norms were violated. He questioned the role of institutions like the Election Commission of India and accused central agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department, and Central Bureau of Investigation, of misuse.

Dotasra expressed concern over amendments to the voter list, claiming that a significant number of voters were placed in the ‘pending decision’ category. He raised questions about whether these voters would be allowed to vote in the future or if re-elections would be necessary in affected constituencies.

He mentioned that notices were issued to 13.6 million people, with 3 million individuals categorized as ‘pending decision.’ Notably, no judicial decision regarding their status was made before the elections concluded.

He also alleged that a large number of government officials were removed during the West Bengal elections and questioned whether similar actions would occur in BJP-ruled states.

Dotasra criticized the actions taken against political advisors and officials during the election period, labeling them as ‘unprecedented.’ He accused the BJP government in Rajasthan of focusing on celebrations rather than governance.
