The Rajasthan Assembly’s budget session is set to commence from Wednesday. Ahead of the session, the ruling party has called a legislative party meeting at 4:30 pm under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma at the CM residence, reflecting preparations amid the opposition’s aggressive stance.
Cabinet Minister Jogaram Patel spoke to news agencies about the upcoming session. He stated that the budget session, starting Wednesday, holds historic significance for the state. Highlighting the proud legacy of the Rajasthan Assembly, he mentioned that this will be the third budget under the current government.
Patel emphasized that under Chief Minister Bhajanlal’s leadership, the previous two budgets were not only announced but also effectively implemented. He expressed confidence that the third budget will be equally historic. He acknowledged the important role of the opposition in Rajasthan’s development, describing them as a strength in the democratic process.
He added his belief that opposition members will raise issues concerning the welfare and development of Rajasthan’s people during the session. Patel further said that discussions will include arguments, suggestions, criticism, and analysis on developmental matters, and the government remains ready to respond at all times. He expressed confidence that the Assembly’s respected tradition will continue throughout the budget session.
However, recent statements from opposition leaders and ongoing issues suggest the session may witness heightened confrontations. The opposition accuses the government of diverting attention from public interest issues, while the government links these matters to law and order and administrative stability. This scenario raises the possibility of clashes within the Assembly.
The state budget is scheduled to be presented on February 11. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is engaging regularly with political and administrative officials at the divisional level to gather feedback. The government is expected to focus significantly on infrastructure development, job creation, and social security schemes in this budget.
