Railway Police Arrests Three Suspects in Train Theft Cases

Guwahati, May 17: The Railway Protection Force of the Northeast Frontier Railway has apprehended a suspect involved in a theft incident. Two mobile phones worth ₹30,000 were recovered from the accused. Following the arrest, the individual was handed over to the Guwahati police for further questioning regarding the case.

A case has been registered against the suspect under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). During police interrogation, efforts are being made to gather additional information to outline further actions.

According to the Railway Police Force, the theft occurred on the Northeast Express, which was traveling from New Delhi to Guwahati.

In another case, the Railway Police arrested a different suspect in Katihar, who was also involved in a theft. This individual had ₹32,000 in cash and a stolen mobile phone in his possession. After the arrest, he was handed over to the Katihar police, where a case is being registered under the relevant sections of the IPC for stringent action.

In a third operation, a person traveling on the New Tinsukia-Amritsar Express was arrested, with ₹25,000 and two stolen mobile phones recovered from him. After his arrest, he was also handed over to the police for questioning.

The Railway Police Force emphasized that the safety of passengers is paramount. They stated that any incidents of theft will be met with immediate action.

The Railway Police Force has urged the public to report any such incidents promptly, as passenger safety remains their top priority.
