The incident occurred when the woman attempted to disembark from the moving train number 59229, the Botad-Bhavnagar passenger service, and lost her balance.
According to reports, as the train was en route to Bhavnagar, the woman fell at Sihoor Junction. CCTV footage clearly shows that she was about to get caught between the platform and the train. However, railway employee Raj Kumar quickly rushed to her aid, pulling her to safety on the platform. This heroic act has been widely praised.
Atul Kumar Tripathi, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the Bhavnagar division, spoke to the media, explaining that the young woman lost her balance while trying to exit the train, which could have resulted in serious injury. Thanks to Raj Kumar’s timely intervention, a major accident was averted.
This incident highlights the dangers of attempting to exit a moving train. Such occurrences are common at railway stations when passengers try to board or alight before the train has come to a complete stop. This kind of negligence can lead to severe accidents.
Divisional Railway Manager Dinesh Verma has urged passengers to prioritize their safety by never attempting to board or alight from a moving train. Passengers should wait until the train has fully stopped and follow the instructions of railway staff.
He reiterated the importance of not rushing to cross tracks or board moving trains. A moment of carelessness can have dire consequences. Awareness is key to preventing accidents, as even a small mistake by passengers can lead to significant incidents. It is crucial to adhere to all safety regulations and avoid putting one’s life at risk.
