Kolkata, May 7: BJP MP Rahul Sinha has criticized the recent meeting between Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee. He remarked that the situation within the India bloc has deteriorated to the point where one defeated party is now going to console another.
Sinha stated, “It’s not surprising that a defeated party is going to wipe the tears of another defeated party. Akhilesh has come to wipe Mamata’s tears, and soon Mamata will go to wipe Stalin’s tears. This is turning into a ‘tear-wiping party.'”
He further targeted the TMC, claiming that Mamata Banerjee’s government has acted not for the public’s welfare but for its own benefit. “The people have rejected the TMC. This is a coalition of thieves, and the public is not willing to support them,” he added.
Regarding the recent murder of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s aide in West Bengal, Sinha insisted that there should be no atmosphere of fear. “We will take revenge for our worker’s blood, but not through bloodshed; we will pursue legal means,” he asserted.
BJP MP Soumitra Khan also expressed his dismay over the incident, stating, “This is a very unfortunate event. It should not have happened. The West Bengal police are investigating, and further inquiries will be conducted after our Chief Minister takes office on May 9.”
BJP leader Shankar Ghosh thanked the public for their support in the elections, emphasizing that the people have demonstrated that they do not need a ruling party like Mamata Banerjee’s. “It is our responsibility to fulfill the aspirations of the people of West Bengal,” he stated.
Notably, after his meeting with Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav posted on X, stating that meeting with the most prominent and respected representative of half the country’s population, meaning women, has infused new energy and heights into the politics of struggle. “Didi has always won hearts. That is her eternal victory,” he concluded.
