Azamgarh, February 25: The controversy surrounding the shirtless protest by the Youth Congress at the AI Summit in Delhi continues to escalate. BJP MP Anurag Thakur labeled Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as a traitor in the Lok Sabha. In response, Uttar Pradesh government minister OP Rajbhar shared his views on Wednesday.
Rajbhar stated, “This is Anurag Thakur’s opinion. However, it is true that whenever Rahul Gandhi travels abroad or speaks, he puts India in the dock. He brings shame to the country on a global stage.”
He further criticized Gandhi for attacking the Election Commission, despite the fact that it is the same commission that enabled him to become an MP. “If he believes the commission is at fault for his election victory, he should resign first and then enter the fray. He cannot be an MP while making such accusations,” Rajbhar added.
Rajbhar accused Gandhi of consistently tarnishing India’s image internationally. He praised Samajwadi Party MP Avadhesh Prasad for condemning the Youth Congress protest, stating that Prasad has shown wisdom by speaking the truth. “There are various ways to protest. However, to stage a nude protest and vandalize during an AI summit attended by global leaders is disgraceful,” he remarked.
In a separate matter, in Delhi, suspects linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Bangladesh module have been remanded to police custody for seven days. Congress MP Imran Masood claimed that innocent people are being implicated in terrorism cases. Rajbhar condemned Masood’s statement, questioning why Masood is not in jail if that is the case.
He asserted, “Masood is lying; he is not someone who accepts the truth. He only talks about vote bank politics. There have been reports of currency being printed inside madrasas in Prayagraj and Kushinagar. Shouldn’t there be an investigation into such incidents? When all the materials and equipment are seized, you cannot label it as wrong. He is merely making statements for political gain, while he should acknowledge the truth.”
