New Delhi, February 25: Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, has sharply criticized Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. He accused Gandhi’s supporters of conspiring to tarnish India’s image during the AI Summit, asserting that Gandhi should feel ashamed and apologize. However, he believes that Gandhi will never change.
In response to the arrest of Indian Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib by Delhi police, Rahul Gandhi stated that peaceful protest is part of India’s historical legacy. He expressed pride in his young Congress colleagues who bravely raised their voices for the nation’s interests. Gandhi claimed that a recent trade deal with the U.S. compromises India’s interests, harming farmers and the textile industry, while also risking data security. He emphasized that exposing the truth is not a crime but an act of patriotism.
Reacting to Gandhi’s remarks, Minister Singh expressed amusement at the opposition leader’s statements. He questioned why Gandhi repeatedly makes himself a subject of ridicule. Singh highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi prioritizes national interests and makes firm decisions for the country’s benefit, unlike Gandhi, who he claims is blind to India’s progress due to his misguided perspective. Singh asserted that Modi is dedicated to advancing the nation, while Gandhi continues to make nonsensical statements.
Singh also noted that the AI Summit received global acclaim, yet Congress workers protested shirtless at Gandhi’s behest, further damaging India’s reputation on the world stage. He stated that the actions of Gandhi’s supporters could be considered treason, as they undermine the country’s dignity. Singh concluded that Gandhi should have apologized but likely will not, as he believes Gandhi is incapable of change.
