New Delhi, May 12: R.P. Singh, the national spokesperson for the BJP, responded to Prime Minister Modi’s appeal for remote work, online classes, and carpooling, calling it a practical step in special circumstances.
In an interview with the IANA news agency, Singh stated, “The Prime Minister has repeatedly urged citizens to save on petrol and diesel, as this directly impacts our foreign exchange reserves and economy. If we refrain from purchasing gold for a year, it would greatly benefit the country. Approximately ₹70 trillion worth of gold is bought in India annually, which depletes our foreign exchange reserves. The Prime Minister’s appeal is justified to ensure that rising oil prices do not burden the common man. Citizens should minimize their purchases of diesel, petrol, and gold.”
Singh also addressed the NEET paper leak case, asserting that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty.
Regarding the ED’s actions in the municipal recruitment scam linked to former West Bengal minister Sujit Bose, Singh remarked, “There is a long list of scammers in West Bengal. Sujit Bose was at the top of that list, and action has been taken. The BJP has already promised to eradicate corruption in West Bengal, and we will continue to take action against corrupt individuals.”
On the new West Bengal government’s allocation of land to the BSF for border fencing, Singh said, “This is a significant step towards sealing our borders. Central agencies and the central government have repeatedly requested land from Mamata Banerjee, but she refused, as Bangladeshi migrants are considered part of her vote bank.”
Singh emphasized that Assam’s support for the BJP is crucial in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. He noted that Himanta Biswa Sarma has been re-elected as Chief Minister to fulfill this goal.
