Putin Arrives in India Today for Two-Day Visit, Key Agreements Expected

New Delhi, December 4 (Daily Kiran) – Russian President Vladimir Putin is arriving in India on Thursday for an official visit. He will be in India from December 4-5 for approximately 30 hours. During this visit, Putin will participate in the 23rd India-Russia bilateral summit meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Putin is reaching India after a gap of four years. In 2021, he had come to New Delhi to participate in the India-Russia annual summit.

President Putin is arriving in Delhi around 7 PM on December 4 evening for his two-day India tour. Prime Minister Modi will host a private dinner in his honour at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.

According to the scheduled programme for the Russian President’s India visit, important deals between Putin and Prime Minister Modi will take place on December 5. On Friday morning, Putin will be welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan with a formal tri-service Guard of Honour. After this, he will visit Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

Following this, around 11 AM, Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Putin will participate in the 23rd India-Russia summit meeting at Hyderabad House. Important agreements are expected in areas like defence, energy, trade, technology, space and strategic cooperation. After the meeting, both leaders will issue a joint statement. It is noteworthy that 22 summit talks have been held between India and Russia so far. For this, Prime Minister Modi had gone to Moscow last year, while Putin last came to India in 2021 for the summit talks.

At 4 PM the same evening, both leaders will address the India-Russia Business Forum at Bharat Mandapam. They will meet with representatives from the business community. After this, around 7 PM, President Droupadi Murmu will host a state banquet in honour of Russian President Putin. Putin will depart for Russia on the night of December 5.
