
Chandigarh, May 18: Punjab Police has successfully dismantled a fake currency module, arresting four individuals in connection with the case. Following their apprehension, the suspects have been taken into custody for further questioning. The police shared details of this operation on their social media platform, X.
According to police reports, the arrested individuals were found in possession of counterfeit notes totaling ₹550,000. Investigations revealed that one of the suspects had previously been linked to a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
A complaint was lodged at the Malerkotla police station, prompting a swift investigation. The police initiated a manhunt for the suspects, and they are now probing other aspects of the case.
Authorities are actively working to identify additional networks involved in this counterfeit operation and are investigating the individuals associated with them. Police have made it clear that strict action will be taken against those involved in this network. Such activities will not be tolerated in Punjab under any circumstances.
