Chandigarh, May 5: Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring launched a strong attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday, questioning the purpose of his meeting with President Droupadi Murmu. He accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of political hypocrisy and betraying its principles.
Responding to the Chief Minister’s recent meeting with the President, Warring stated that it would not change the ground realities in Punjab. He emphasized that merely meeting the President would not bring about any transformation. This, he argued, is an attempt to conceal the failures of the AAP government.
The Congress leader alleged that the ruling party is engaged in distraction tactics while simultaneously blaming its opponents. He pointed out the contradiction, stating that while they label others as traitors, they are engaging in similar actions themselves.
Warring cited examples of leaders from regions like Tarn Taran and Jalandhar who later joined AAP. He questioned whether the BJP and AAP initiated this trend. He criticized the practice of giving tickets to leaders from other parties, which contradicts their claims of clean politics.
He accused the AAP government of favoring a select group of industrialists while neglecting the common people. Warring claimed that the party has decided to benefit four industrialists, further enriching the wealthy. People across Punjab are raising questions about these decisions, as the party has overlooked its old workers and volunteers.
Targeting Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, Warring stated that his actions have raised questions about political credibility. He urged the party to reflect on what it has done for its members. A young leader, previously less known, has been given significant recognition, along with government vehicles, housing, and security.
Warring made a stern remark regarding Chadha, asserting that recent political decisions will have long-lasting effects. No matter how prominent they become, their conscience will remind them of their choices. These decisions have permanently raised doubts about their credibility, especially among the youth.
