Priyanka to lead Women’s day march

Lucknow, March 6 : On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, Congress will hold a women’s march led by Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, party spokesperson said on Sunday. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Congress’s national spokesperson Supriya Shrinet said that ‘Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon’ was not just an election slogan, but it is a movement and has started to empower women in the country. She stated that this march is a symbol of women participation in politics along with giving a message of solidarity and making politics more inclusive. “Now no power can stop the political revival of women power and it has started from Uttar Pradesh,” she claimed. Shrinet informed that elected women representatives of Congress party from all over the country would participate in this march. The march, which will start at 1200 hours, will pass from Begum Hazrat Mahal park to Uda Devi roundabout and end near Gandhi statue located at GPO, the party spokesperson further informed. Doctors, social workers, teachers, women associated with sports and cine world, women office-bearers and workers of Congress party will also participate in the March, she added. MB JNA
