Mumbai, May 9: Political tensions are rising following the bomb blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar, Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accused the BJP of orchestrating these attacks. In this context, former Rajya Sabha member Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena (UBT) has expressed deep concern over the incidents and is demanding accountability from the central government.
In a recent interview, Chaturvedi stated, “While the central government is busy promoting Operation Sindoor globally, we still await answers regarding the main accused in the Pahalgam attack and the actions taken against them. If the ISI is behind the blasts in Punjab, it raises serious concerns. This matter should be addressed by Home Minister Amit Shah, but he seems preoccupied with forming a government in West Bengal.”
Chaturvedi further emphasized, “What Bhagwant Mann claims is one thing, but with the BJP in power at the center, if ISI is executing attacks in Punjab, then the Home Minister must bear responsibility and accountability.”
The Shiv Sena leader questioned whether the Home Ministry had prior intelligence about the blasts. “If they did, was this information shared with the Punjab government? Were security measures strengthened? The central government must answer these pressing questions,” she insisted.
On the formation of the government in Tamil Nadu, Chaturvedi remarked, “Vijay’s party, TVK, has emerged as the largest party. The public mandate must be respected, and Vijay should be prioritized as the party leader. A floor test will take place in the assembly. If there is something to prove, it must be done there. It is the governor’s constitutional duty to invite the largest party, but the governor’s office is being misused to create an environment for horse-trading among legislators. This will likely lead to public anger towards the governor in the coming days.”
