Prince Yadavs Stellar Performance: Dismisses Virat Kohli for a Duck in IPL 2026

Lucknow, May 8: In IPL 2026, one young fast bowler has truly made a mark with his performance: Prince Yadav of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). On Thursday, he played a crucial role in his team’s victory against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with a remarkable bowling display. Notably, he bowled out Virat Kohli, which has become a hot topic of discussion.

RCB was set a target of 213 runs, and it was essential for Kohli to anchor the innings, a role he is known for. However, Prince Yadav had other plans. He bowled the second over for LSG, and Kohli faced him right away. The first ball went for no runs, but on the second delivery, Prince bowled Kohli out. The movement of the ball surprised Kohli, sending his wicket flying. This marked the first time Kohli was dismissed for a duck in the IPL since 2017. Prince was visibly delighted after taking Kohli’s wicket.

After the match, when asked about his bowling and the wicket of Kohli, Prince shared, “After the last match, I spoke with Bhaiya Virat. He simply told me, ‘Keep bowling at the length that is helping you.’ I followed that advice.”

In this way, Prince utilized Virat’s advice as a weapon against him and claimed his wicket. He ended the match with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs, dismissing not only Kohli but also Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma. Thanks to his lethal bowling, RCB could only score 203 runs while chasing the target of 213, losing the match by 9 runs. For LSG, Mitchell Marsh scored a century, making 111 runs off 56 balls.

Prince Yadav has emerged as LSG’s most successful bowler this season, taking 16 wickets in 10 matches. He ranks as the third-highest wicket-taker of the season, following Bhuvneshwar and Anshul Kamboj.
