Lucknow, April 29: Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent visit to Varanasi and the inauguration of various development projects. He stated that the Prime Minister has undertaken significant initiatives for the development of Kashi and has engaged directly with local women to empower them.
Sharma revealed that the Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the Ganga Expressway in Hardoi soon, which will play a crucial role in the state’s development.
In an interview with a news agency, Sharma emphasized that the Prime Minister believes previous governments have failed to address the needs of half the country’s population—women—resulting in a hindrance to national progress. He noted that the government prioritizes the Women’s Reservation Bill to promote female empowerment.
Sharma accused opposition parties, particularly the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, of being indifferent to women’s rights. He asserted that nations progress where women are empowered, and both the central and state governments are currently working on this development model.
Additionally, regarding the protests against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event ‘Yuva Kumbh’ in Jamia, Delhi, he stated that such events aim to inspire youth participation in nation-building. However, some individuals seek to limit the youth’s role by opposing these initiatives.
He mentioned that programs like ‘Yuva Kumbh’ provide opportunities for youth from various backgrounds and serve as a platform to showcase talent. According to him, the RSS’s core mission is to strengthen the spirit of nationalism without discrimination based on religion.
