Prime Minister Modi to Launch New Train Services in Gujarat

PM Modi will inaugurate two new train services in Gujarat, enhancing regional connectivity and benefiting travelers and pilgrims.

Ahmedabad, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two new train services in Gujarat on October 30. The event will take place via video conferencing. One of the services is a daily express train connecting Sabarmati and Varanasi, while the other is a Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) service linking Sabarmati, Becharaji, and Mehsana.

The Sabarmati-Varanasi Express aims to provide direct rail connectivity for travelers between Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. This includes pilgrims heading to the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.

Meanwhile, the MEMU service will offer additional travel options for daily commuters and devotees visiting the Shri Bahuchar Mata Temple in Becharaji, located in Mehsana district.

According to the railway schedule, train number 12205 will depart Sabarmati at 5:20 AM and arrive in Varanasi the next day at 6:30 AM. The return service, train number 12206, will leave Varanasi at 5:30 PM, reaching Sabarmati at 8:15 PM the following day. This express train will operate daily, making stops at key stations including Mehsana, Palanpur, Abu Road, and Jaipur.

The MEMU service will connect major stations in North Gujarat, such as Chandkheda, Kalol, and Kadi. It is expected to benefit students, professionals, traders, and industrial workers commuting between Mehsana, Patan, and surrounding areas.

The MEMU will run in the morning and evening, with a schedule that includes departures from Sabarmati at 6:40 AM, arriving in Becharaji at 8:05 AM and Mehsana at 9:45 AM. The return journey will commence from Mehsana at 4:40 PM, reaching Becharaji at 5:49 PM and Sabarmati at 8:30 PM.

Divisional Railway Manager Ved Prakash emphasized that these new services will enhance regional and inter-state rail connectivity. He noted that the Sabarmati-Varanasi Express will provide a convenient travel option for pilgrims, while the MEMU service will improve access to the Bahuchar Mata Temple and benefit regular commuters in North Gujarat.

The inauguration ceremony at Sabarmati Station will include several dignitaries, such as State Minister Darshana Jardosh, Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot, and various local MPs and MLAs. A similar event at Becharaji Station will feature MP Hari Patel and other officials.

These initiatives are expected to ease travel for tourists and traders, while also boosting economic activities along these routes.
