Prime Minister Modi Celebrates National Panchayati Raj Day, Inspires Public Representatives

New Delhi, April 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation on National Panchayati Raj Day. He emphasized that the dedication of public representatives towards serving the nation alongside the public is truly inspiring.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi stated, “On the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day, I warmly congratulate all public representatives across the country. Your commitment to serving the nation alongside the public is inspiring to everyone.”

Additionally, PM Modi shared a Sanskrit verse that reads, “Prajasukhe sukham raajnah prajanaan cha hitam hitam. Naatmapriyam priyam raajnah prajanaan tu priyam priyam.” This verse conveys that the happiness of the public is the happiness of the representative, and their welfare is paramount. A true public servant prioritizes the public’s interests above personal preferences.

On this significant day, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also conveyed his wishes to the citizens. He remarked on ‘X’, “Panchayati Raj institutions are a strong foundational unit of democracy, realizing the vision of Gram Swaraj. They play a crucial role in local self-governance, public participation, transparency, digital empowerment, women’s involvement, and building a self-reliant India.”

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan noted, “The soul of India resides in its villages, and the development of these villages is rooted in our Panchayati Raj system. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Panchayati Raj system has gained new energy and direction in recent years. Through women’s empowerment, digital and health facility expansion, cleanliness campaigns, water conservation, and infrastructure development, transformative changes have reached every village. Today, I salute all public representatives, workers, and villagers engaged in nation-building through the Panchayati Raj system.”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wished the residents of his state a happy National Panchayati Raj Day, stating, “This sacred occasion of empowering Panchayats and self-reliant villages inspires us all to strengthen the roots of democracy. Let us reinforce local self-governance and write a new chapter of development from the grassroots level, contributing to a strong nation.”

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta added, “The success of democracy depends on the strength of Panchayats. Thriving and empowered villages are steering the country towards new development. We are continuously striving to implement rural development plans and bring smiles to every face. A developed India is only possible through direct public participation and collective efforts.”
