Priest Found Murdered in Dhanbad, Investigation Underway
A priest was discovered dead in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, showing signs of strangulation and knife wounds, prompting a police investigation.
Dhanbad, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : In Dhanbad, Jharkhand, the lifeless body of a priest named Munna Pandey was discovered at his home in the Amtaand area on Thursday. Authorities suspect he was strangled and also suffered injuries from a sharp weapon.
Local residents grew concerned when they noticed no activity at his residence and alerted the police. Officers from the Katras police station responded promptly and found the body inside the house.
Ajit Kumar Vimal, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Baghmara, arrived at the scene shortly after the discovery. Initial investigations revealed signs of strangulation on the victim’s neck, along with wounds inflicted by a sharp object. However, the circumstances surrounding the murder and any potential suspects remain unclear.
Police are actively collecting evidence from the scene and surrounding areas. They may call in forensic teams and a dog squad as needed. The victim’s family has been notified about the incident.
SDPO Vimal stated that, at first glance, the case appears to be a homicide. Investigators are exploring various angles, including personal disputes, robbery, or other motives. The local community is expressing outrage, demanding that authorities identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
