New Delhi, 2 January: The controversy surrounding the inclusion of Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman in Shah Rukh Khan’s IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders, has deepened. BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal stated that Shah Rukh Khan must now decide whether he stands with India or with anti-national forces. The decision rests solely with him.
The criticism intensified following reports of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. Renowned storyteller Devkinandan Thakur condemned Shah Rukh Khan for including the Bangladeshi player in his team, demanding clarity on whether the actor supports India or if this move amounts to betrayal.
On the rules related to MPs’ protocol, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal remarked that the Indian government has established clear guidelines. He suggested that some officials might be unaware of these protocols and advised them to consult senior officers to understand parliamentary procedures better. This would ensure that any communication from the Parliament office is taken seriously.
Commenting on a post by BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari sharing a picture of Rahul Gandhi, Khandelwal said that whether it is Rahul Gandhi or other Congress leaders, their connections lie with forces that seek to divide the country. He claimed that whenever Rahul Gandhi travels abroad, he meets individuals working against India, including George Soros and others. Khandelwal expressed confusion over Rahul Gandhi’s true intentions and asserted that this is why Congress is heading towards its downfall.
Regarding the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu, he confidently stated that the NDA will win and form the government.
On the current situation in Bangladesh, Khandelwal urged the Bangladeshi government to protect minority Hindus. He said that the Indian government is closely monitoring the situation and believes a resolution will come soon.
Responding to the Rail Minister’s announcement about the bullet train, the BJP MP called it a dream coming true and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for this achievement.
Praveen Khandelwal also highlighted major administrative changes in the government since the start of 2026. He assured that the responsible governance promised by Prime Minister Modi will be implemented in Chandni Chowk. During a recent public dialogue, all issues raised by citizens were noted by the concerned departments, and responses will soon be submitted to the DM office and his office. MLAs and councillors will monitor the situation closely, and he appealed to citizens for their cooperation.
BJP leader Poonam Bhardwaj thanked MP Khandelwal and the district magistrate for taking out time to hold the public dialogue and listen to people’s problems directly. She noted that previously officials remained confined to their offices, but this was the first time they engaged openly with the public.
