Panaji, March 10 : As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is just short of a majority mark in the state, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant extended his gratitude to people for reposing their trust in the party. ”I would like to express my gratitude to the people of Goa for reposing their trust and love in @BJP4Goa and believing in BJP & the leadership of PM @narendramodi ji,” he said in a tweet. As per the Election Commission, BJP has won 10 seats and was leading on the same number of seats leaving behind Congress which won five seats and was leading in 6 seats. The BJP had contested all the 40 seats in Goa. Dr Sawant had become Chief Minister of the state after the demise of then CM Manohar Parrikar in 2019. Dr Sawant has been MLA from Sanquelim constituency twice. This will be his term as MLA. AKM GK
