Patna, Mar 15 : Post-lunch sitting of Bihar Assembly on Tuesday was adjourned within a few minutes amid pandemonium created by opposition members over alleged improper tone and tenor of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar towards Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha on Monday. As soon as the House assembled for post-lunch sitting, opposition members created a noisy scene over alleged improper tone and tenor of Chief Minister Kumar towards Speaker Sinha when he had intervened during a reply to a question on crimes in Lakhisarai district on Monday, saying it was not the jurisdiction of the House to seek a police investigation report of any incident. As per law, police would submit its investigation report of the case to Court, Kumar had remarked and cautioned the Speaker that he was not running the business of the House as per the constitution. Senior member Prem Kumar presiding the House to transact its scheduled business asked members to maintain order in the House. Despite his repeated requests, opposition members did not relent and continued to raise anti-government slogans. They were demanding an apology from Chief Minister Kumar for his improper behaviour with the Speaker which they described as derogatory to the dignity of the authority of the Speaker. Amid pandemonium scene, Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar presented budgetary demand of his department of Rs15456.46 Crores for the financial year 2022-23. Congress member Vijay Shankar Dubey moved the cut motion but the debate on it could not be held due to the noisy scene. When repeated requests of Prem Kumar to bring the House in order failed to yield results, he adjourned the House till 4:50 PM. Both Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha did not attend the House during its pre-lunch and post-lunch sitting on Tuesday. KKS RN
