Puducherry, April 14 : Chief Minister N Rangaswamy greeted the people of the on Territory, particularly those speaking Malayalam, on the occasion of Vishu, the Malayalam New Year Day, on Friday. In a release here, the Chief Minister said it is the tradition of Malayalees to see the “Vishu Kani”(which sees first on the day of Vishu) and giving “Kaineetam”(giving coins as gift to younger members of the family), with the prayer that the entire year should be happier and prosperous to them. Wherever they live, Malayalees will not deviate from their culture and tradition, he said. ”May this Vishu fulfill the faith and expectations in the minds of the people,” Rangaswamy said. PAB CS
