Political Tensions Rise Over Liquor Ban in Bihar: Minister Responds to RJD Legislators Claims

Patna, February 27: Political tensions have escalated in Bihar regarding the state’s liquor ban. RJD legislator Sunil Singh’s recent claims have prompted a sharp response from Minister and BJP leader Dilip Jaiswal.

In an interview with a news agency, Jaiswal remarked, “The online system may be more influenced by Sunil Singh than he realizes.” He further stated that individuals engaging in prohibited activities online would be held accountable.

Previously, RJD legislator Sunil Singh asserted that he would facilitate ‘liquor delivery’ in the Bihar Assembly. He also alleged that the ban has led to a surge in the use of alternative intoxicants. In a media interaction, he stated, “Since the liquor ban law was enacted in 2016, consumption has not decreased; instead, it has multiplied. ‘Dry intoxication’ is ruining our youth more than alcohol ever did.”

Following Union Home Minister Amit Shah‘s visit to Bihar, Jaiswal commented, “Amit Shah‘s three-day program focused on border areas adjacent to Nepal and Bangladesh. He expressed concerns about the development of these regions. The government is committed to improving the economic, social, and educational conditions, as well as healthcare for the residents. He also announced the identification of illegal residents.”

On social media, Jaiswal highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s milestone of reaching 100 million followers on Instagram, stating, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become a global figure with this achievement, reflecting his immense popularity. This is possible only when humanity and compassion are prioritized, as India has emerged as the fourth largest economy and a security power globally.”

He added, “PM Modi has received over 25 international honors, which is a matter of pride for any Indian Prime Minister.”
