He reiterated the demand for a caste-based census, asserting, “Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party, and the ‘India’ alliance have long advocated for a caste-based enumeration in the country. Representation should reflect population ratios, and having caste data is essential. The government has initiated the census process under pressure from the opposition, but including caste counts is crucial for its completeness.”
Patel emphasized, “Without revealing the true numbers of various social groups, ensuring equitable and just representation will be challenging. This is not merely a political issue; it is a matter of social justice.”
Meanwhile, following the Supreme Court’s decision to grant anticipatory bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera, Congress leader Shama Mohammad expressed her satisfaction. She stated, “All party members are pleased with this decision, and their trust in the judiciary has strengthened.”
