Political Tensions Rise in Bihar Over Patna Graduate Seat

Patna, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : The political landscape in Bihar is heating up as tensions rise between Janata Dal (United) legislators Anant Singh and Neeraj Kumar over the Patna graduate electoral seat. Anant Singh has openly opposed the potential candidacy of Neeraj Kumar, announcing his support for independent candidate Dr. Anuj Singh. This conflict is not new, as it stems from ongoing disputes related to the same electoral seat.

Reports indicate that Neeraj Kumar is preparing to contest again for this position, while Anant Singh has firmly rejected any backing for him, pledging to fight vigorously against him. Recently, Anant Singh declared that he would ensure Neeraj Kumar’s bail would not be secured.

In response, Neeraj Kumar took a jab at Anant Singh, stating that someone who does not understand bail cannot threaten to revoke it. This exchange has led to an escalation in their verbal sparring. On Saturday, Anant Singh reiterated his stance, suggesting that they could meet face-to-face to discuss their differences, even offering to do so at a temple dedicated to Bajrangbali. He leveled various personal and political accusations against Neeraj Kumar, referencing past political events.

Neeraj Kumar countered by asserting that Nitish Kumar had previously supported Anant Singh’s rise in politics, yet now he faces opposition from him. He challenged Anant Singh to present evidence for his claims in a legal context. Neeraj also emphasized that he would not succumb to pressure and would respond to the allegations against him through political and legal means.

The escalating rhetoric between these two leaders has intensified discussions within the JD(U) regarding the upcoming elections. Attempts to mediate the differences between the factions have been reported, but the conflict shows no signs of resolution.
