Police stop BJP leaders from meeting kin of Karauli violence victims

Karauli (Rajasthan), April 13 : Rajasthan BJP chief Dr Satish Poonia and party’s Yuva Morcha president Tejasavi Surya were stopped from entering the violence-hit Karauli district on Wednesday. According to BJP’s state t sources, the leaders left Jaipur for Karauli to meet the kin of the communal violence erupted on April 2. Poonia and Surya were leading what they called a ‘Nyay Raily’ when the leaders were stopped on the border of the district at the Hindaun Road. Heavy police force has been deployed there to maintain law and order situation, even as BJP Yuva Morcha members trying to march towards the violence-hit Karauli. The BJP members were raising anti- state government slogans. Earlier, Dr Poonia and Surya met the injured of Karauli violence admitted to Sawai Mansingh Hospital in the state capital and left for Karauli. The communal tension had broken out due to stone-pelting at a ‘Shobha Yatra’ (motorcycle rally) in the city on April 2. Many people were injured in the violence while several shops were set on fire.
