Police Encounter with Bike Thieves in Firozabad Leads to Arrests and Recovery of Stolen Motorcycles

Firozabad, May 11: A late-night encounter in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, between the police and bike thieves resulted in the arrest of two suspects.

According to SP City Ravishankar Prasad, the Rasoolpur police were patrolling the area in search of suspicious vehicles and criminals. During their patrol, they received a tip-off about two young men riding a motorcycle under dubious circumstances. When the police attempted to stop them, the suspects fled. The thieves opened fire on the police team, prompting a retaliatory response from the officers, during which one of the suspects, Ashif, was injured.

The injured suspect was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, where he is currently receiving care. The second suspect, Yogendra, attempted to escape but was apprehended by the police team after a brief chase. During interrogation, both suspects admitted to being involved in multiple motorcycle thefts.

Authorities stated that the arrested individuals had been committing bike thefts in Firozabad and surrounding areas for an extended period. Police recovered a firearm, cartridges, and three stolen motorcycles from their possession.

The three motorcycles found at the scene are reported stolen, and the police are gathering more information regarding their ownership. Legal action has been initiated against the suspects under relevant sections of the law.

Ravishankar Prasad emphasized that the vigilance of the Rasoolpur police led to this significant success. He stated that a continuous campaign against criminals is underway in the district, and no leniency will be shown towards offenders. Efforts are ongoing to identify the suspects and locate the stolen motorcycles, as well as to track down other members of their gang.

He added that the suspects typically targeted motorcycles, breaking their locks at night to sell them at lower prices. The police are also searching for the motorcycles that were sold by them.
