Kakinada, May 11: In a shocking incident, an unidentified assailant murdered a police constable in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The police reported the incident on Monday.
The attack occurred late Sunday night in the Gandhinagar area of Kakinada. According to authorities, some unknown individuals attacked Constable Nageshwar Rao of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police with a knife, resulting in fatal injuries.
Local residents informed the police that a group of intoxicated youths assaulted a man walking on the street. The police arrived promptly at the scene and identified the victim as a constable of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police. The body has been sent to the government general hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, a police team visited the crime scene to gather evidence. Senior police officials also inspected the area. In another incident, a man drowned, and another went missing after a boat capsized in Palnadu district. This tragedy occurred in Kakani village of the Narsaraopet mandal when the boat sank in a pond. Locals recovered one body, identified as Pitalabanda Hussain, while the search for the missing individual, Aghraharam Hussain, continues. According to police, the incident happened while both men were feeding fish in the pond.
Additionally, in the neighboring state of Telangana, three people were injured in a road accident. This occurred in Nalgonda district when a car collided with an oil tanker. Police reported that the crash took place near Veliminedu in the Chiryala mandal. The three occupants of the car were hospitalized, while the tanker overturned, disrupting traffic between Vijayawada and Hyderabad.
