Mumbai, April 24: In a significant operation, police have arrested two robbers involved in a daytime heist targeting finance employees in Tundla. The encounter resulted in gunfire from both sides, leaving the suspects injured. They have since been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
According to SP City Ravishankar Prasad, the suspects, Kuldeep and Nikhil (also known as Kanha or Guldoori), were apprehended during a police encounter on the old bypass road near Hamirpur Bamba. Authorities recovered two illegal 315 bore firearms, four spent cartridges, two live cartridges, and a stolen amount of ₹95,880, along with a motorcycle used in the crime. Legal action is underway against the accused.
The incident occurred on April 22 at around 1:30 PM when two employees of Kota Finance, Armaan and Arvind, were on their way to deposit money at a bank from their office in Vaishalipuram Colony. They were attacked from behind by unidentified individuals on a Splendor motorcycle, who snatched their bag and fled. Following the victims’ complaint, a case was registered.
To successfully resolve the case, Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya Langhe formed four police teams. During the investigation, Arvind was taken into custody for intensive questioning. He confessed that the robbery was carried out in collaboration with three accomplices. Subsequently, rewards of ₹25,000 each were announced for information leading to the capture of Kuldeep and Nikhil.
On the night of April 23, police received a tip-off that the wanted suspects were gathering on the old bypass road for a money distribution. When the police team approached, the two suspects opened fire. In self-defense, the police returned fire, injuring both Kuldeep and Nikhil, who were later hospitalized.
