Noida police of Sector-1 police station have cracked an inter-state vehicle theft gang involved in stealing two-wheelers across Delhi NCR. Four accused, Shadab alias Rutba, Arman alias Sutta, Ulman, and Vijay, were arrested near Sector-14A on Monday. The police recovered 15 stolen motorcycles, scooters, and scooter parts from their possession, with an estimated value of around Rs 15 lakh.
The accused used to conduct reconnaissance near colonies, societies, companies, and factories to identify parked two-wheelers. They would break the vehicle locks and steal the vehicles. Stolen vehicles were often dismantled and sold as spare parts at high prices in scrap shops. Occasionally, entire vehicles were sold cheaply in other states.
Arman and Ulman, twin brothers who look alike, played a key role in the gang’s operations. One brother would stay at the shop while the other committed thefts. They used to wear similar clothes and exchange places to avoid detection.
Shadab has a long criminal record with multiple cases registered against him in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi. Arman, Ulman, and Vijay also have prior cases related to vehicle theft. Among the recovered vehicles, nine are linked to previously registered cases from Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad. Police are continuing investigations to connect the accused with other theft incidents.
