In an effort to uplift small artisans and traditional workers, the Central Government has launched the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, a scheme designed to support the economic growth of craftsmen and skilled professionals from the unorganized sector. Through this initiative, eligible individuals can avail collateral-free loans of up to ₹3 lakh at a nominal 5% interest rate, along with various training and digital incentives.

What is PM Vishwakarma Yojana?

PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a flagship scheme launched by the Government of India, focused on promoting and supporting traditional artisans and craftsmen in modernizing their skills and expanding their businesses. The scheme covers 18 designated trades including blacksmiths, carpenters, masons, weavers, cobblers, and more.

Who Can Apply for PM Vishwakarma Yojana?

To benefit from the scheme, applicants must:

• Be engaged in one of the 18 notified trades

• Use hand tools or traditional methods in their profession

• Be above 18 years of age

• Not have availed benefits under PM Swanidhi, PMEGP, or Mudra Yojana in the last 5 years

• Be actively practicing their trade at the time of application

Key Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana

• Loan of up to ₹3 lakh disbursed in two phases:

  • ₹1 lakh in the first tranche

  • ₹2 lakh in the second tranche

• Only 5% interest rate

• No collateral required

• PM Vishwakarma Certificate and Digital ID

• Basic and advanced training (5–7 days and 15+ days respectively)

• Daily stipend of ₹500 during training

• ₹1 incentive per digital transaction (up to 100 transactions/month)
