PM to inaugurate Lata Mangeshkar Memorial Chowk in Ayodhya on 28

Ayodhya : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, built in the memory of Swar Kokila Lata Mangeshkar, on September 28. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will join in from Ayodhya in the program. The family members of late Lata Mangeshkar have also been invited in the program organised on September 28, the birth anniversary of Lata Mangeshkar. Invitation has been sent to sister Usha Mangeshkar.

Municipal Commissioner Vishal Singh said that the secretary of the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has invited the family members of Lata Mangeshkar waji to attend the function. All the preparations for the event have been completed. It is Chief Minister Adityanath’s intention that his Ayodhya should be illuminated with the confluence of spirituality, faith and music. On the death of Lata Mangeshkar, Chief Minister Adityanath had announced that there would be a Chowk in her memory. Now this chowk will be inaugurated on her birth anniversary. Lata Mangeshkar Chowk is being constructed by ADA in the new Ghat area. Here the Veena of Mother Sharda will be the identity of Sur Samragyani Chowk.

Municipal Commissioner Vishal Singh said that Lata Smriti Chowk is being constructed with an expenditure of about 7.9 crore. The new ghat tied Tirahe will now be known as Lata Mangeshkar Chowk. The Veena in the memory of Lata Mangeshkar has been designed by world renowned sculptor and Padma awardee Ramvi Sutar. The veena on the square is visible from afar.

EO Sanjeev Yadav told that the length of the veena in it is 10.8 meters. Swar Kokila Smriti Chowk has been built to bring alive the memory of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. Here important aspects depicting the life and personality of Lata ji such as her achievement in the field of music, her soul touching voice, graceful personality etc. have also been given place. In the center of Smriti Chowk, Veena symbolising Vagdevi Saraswati, along with other classical instruments are also displayed. Bhajans sung by Lata Mangeshkar will also resonate at Smriti Chowk. Smriti Chowk has been designed by Ranjan Mohanty of Noida.
