Patna, May 12: Sanjay Sarawagi, the Bihar BJP state president, responded to statements from opposition leaders regarding Prime Minister Modi’s recent appeal. He asserted that the opposition shows no concern for national interest.
In a conversation in Patna, Sarawagi highlighted the ongoing conflicts in neighboring countries and around the world. He noted that the prices of petroleum products have surged by 400-500% in Pakistan and other nations.
While India has reduced or eliminated special excise duties, the burden on common citizens has not significantly increased. However, due to the historical rise in crude oil prices, an appeal has been made for people to minimize their use of petrol and diesel. He encouraged working from home whenever possible.
Sanjay Sarawagi commended PM Modi’s appeal to the citizens. He criticized those opposing it, stating they have no regard for the country’s welfare. He also accused Rahul Gandhi of tarnishing India’s image abroad.
Wishing Himanta Biswa Sarma well, Sarawagi noted that Sarma is set to take the oath of office as Chief Minister for the second time. He mentioned that PM Modi and several other Chief Ministers will be present at the ceremony. He emphasized that where the NDA governs, their leaders perform well, which is why their government keeps getting re-elected.
Regarding Tejashwi Yadav’s comments on alcohol prohibition, he reiterated that Bihar has a ban on alcohol. He assured that appropriate actions are taken whenever necessary in the Secretariat.
On the cooperation portal, Sarawagi mentioned that under Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s leadership, various welfare initiatives are being implemented. He recalled that during Nitish Kumar’s tenure, significant progress was made in Bihar, establishing good governance and reducing chaos. Now, Samrat Chaudhary is continuing that work. A new portal is being launched, a toll-free number will be issued, and camps will be set up in several panchayats within two days. Actions for public welfare will be monitored, and if no progress is made in 30 days, the government will seek accountability from officials.
Discussing law and order, Sarawagi stated that a clear message has been sent to criminals: they will face consequences within 48 hours, and no criminal will be spared.
