PM Modi to lay foundation stone of transport aircraft manufacturing project for IAF in Vadodara today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of a transport aircraft manufacturing project in Vadodara, Gujarat today to strengthen the logistic capabilities of the Indian Air Force. The project, worth around 22,000 crore rupees, is the first of its kind in which C-295MW transport aircraft will be manufactured in India by private companies, Airbus Defence and TATA consortium. In a big boost to Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, Make in India and domestic aviation manufacturing, 40 aircraft will be manufactured in the country.

This state-of-the-art transport aircraft, with a capacity of 5 to 10 tons, will strengthen the Indian Air Force. The aircraft can also be used for civilian purposes. The new aircraft will replace the ageing Avro aircraft. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries will attend the function. The C-295MW transport aircraft manufacturing project will strengthen the Indian Air Force and create an entirely new ecosystem for the domestic aviation sector. In September last year, Cabinet Committee on Security had approved the procurement of 56 C-295MW transport aircraft from Airbus Defence and Space SA. 16 aircraft will be delivered in flyaway condition while 40 aircraft will be manufactured in Vadodara by Airbus Defence and TATA consortium. All these 56 transport aircraft will be fitted with indigenous Electronic Warfare Suite. The transport aircraft manufacturing facility will generate several skilled and indirect jobs. It is estimated that 600 highly skilled jobs and more than three thousand indirect jobs will be generated. This ambitious project will enhance the country’s overall capabilities in transport aircraft manufacturing and give a boost to the Make in India initiative. Sanjio Kumar Singh for AIR News.

Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will visit Kevadia. He will pay homage to Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity and then he will participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations. Mr Modi will also address the Officer Trainees of the 97th Common Foundation Course at the culmination of Aarambh 4.0.

Thereafter, Mr Modi will reach Banaskantha district, where he will lay the foundation stone of various development projects in Tharad. During a public programme, work on water supply projects worth over 8 thousand crore rupees will be started. He will lay the foundation stone of several projects, including the Kasara to Dantiwada Pipeline from the main Narmada Canal, costing over one thousand 560 crore rupees. The project will augment the water supply and prove beneficial for farmers of the region as well. Announcement of several projects will also be done during the programme, including the strengthening of Sujlam Suflam Canal, an extension of the Modhera-Moti Dau pipeline to Mukteshwar Dam-Karmavat Lake and lift irrigation scheme for 11 villages of Santalpur Taluka, among others.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation’s key railway projects in Ahmedabad. He will dedicate two railway projects worth over two thousand 900 crore rupees at Asarva, Ahmedabad. These projects include the Ahmedabad (Asarva) – Himmatnagar – Udaipur Gauge Converted Line and Lunidhar-Jetalsar Gauge Converted Line. Mr Modi will also flag off new trains between Bhavnagar – Jetalsar and between Asarva – Udaipur.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will reach Banswara district of Rajasthan where he will attend a public programme ‘Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha’. Thereafter, he will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects at Jambughoda in Panchmahal district of Gujarat. Mr Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth around 860 crore rupees in Jambughoda, Panchmahal. He will also dedicate the new campus of Govind Guru University, Godhara. He will also dedicate Sant Joriya Parameshwar Primary School and Memorial located at the village Vadek and Raja Rup Singh Nayak Primary School and Memorial located at the village Dandiyapura.

Mr Modi will lay the foundation stone for the building of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Godhra. He will also lay the foundation stone for the development of Godhra Medical College and the expansion of Kaushalya – The Skill University, worth over 680 crore rupees.
