Mumbai, August 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Krishna Sheshadri, a resident of Mumbai, for his innovative efforts to make Indian history more accessible. During the 137th episode of his radio program “Mann Ki Baat,” Modi highlighted Sheshadri’s website, which presents historical information in an engaging manner.
Modi stated, “As you all know, Mann Ki Baat is a platform where we showcase new initiatives and discuss innovative ideas from our citizens. Many of these ideas are the result of relentless energy and passion.”
He referred to a social media post by Sheshadri, which announced the launch of his project on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi. Sheshadri’s idea is straightforward: users can visit the website, select any year, and easily discover which ruler governed which part of India at that time. Modi expressed his intrigue about this initiative.
“I thought it would be great to learn more about this,” Modi said. “I found out that this work was done by Krishna Sheshadri from Mumbai. Interestingly, he has kept the website name very simple. The effort he has put in deserves to be shared with everyone, so I thought, why not speak directly to Krishna?”
Modi asked Sheshadri how, despite not being a history teacher, he created a history website using technology. Sheshadri replied, “I am an engineer by training. I completed my MBA and worked in the market sector. However, I have always had a passion for history. I believe we can significantly improve how history is taught and present it as engaging stories.”
