
New Delhi, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the legacy of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary. In a heartfelt tribute, Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to realizing Narayan’s ideals while striving for a ‘Developed India.’
Reflecting on Narayan’s enduring influence, Modi took to social media platform X to express that he inspired generations. He stated, “He instilled confidence in people that public life could be a means for national reconstruction. His fearless voice during the Emergency was remarkable.”
Modi further highlighted Narayan’s dedication to ensuring good governance and reaching out to marginalized communities. “As we work towards building a ‘Developed India,’ we are committed to fulfilling his ideals,” he added.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to Narayan, noting that his life symbolizes unwavering commitment to democratic values and national interest. In his post on X, Singh remarked, “His call for ‘Total Revolution’ was a pledge for integrity in politics, accountability in governance, and a moral renaissance in society. He bravely opposed dictatorship during the dark chapter of the Emergency.”
Singh underscored Narayan’s struggle for the protection of the Constitution, civil liberties, and democratic rights, which will always be remembered in Indian history. “The life of Lok Nayak reminds us that principles are greater than power and national interest surpasses personal gain,” he stated.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also paid his respects, stating that Narayan’s name will always be remembered in Indian democracy for his courage, principles, and unwavering faith in the power of the people. Birla noted that Narayan’s life represented a commitment to voicing opposition against injustice and fostering positive change in society.
He added, “By engaging in the Sarvodaya and Bhoodan movements, he advanced the idea of uplifting the most marginalized individuals and promoting social equality. The ideals of Lok Nayak will continue to inspire generations.”
