Kolkata, May 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of party workers during a recent oath-taking ceremony in Kolkata. He acknowledged that the hard work of these individuals is crucial for the party’s success. Modi’s journey from a grassroots worker to the Prime Minister exemplifies this dedication.
During the ceremony, he paid his respects to senior BJP worker Makhanlal Sarkar, touching his feet and embracing him warmly. Modi’s appreciation for his workers was evident as he later met with the families of deceased BJP members Debashish Mandal, Soumitra Ghoshal, and Anand Paul.
In a post on X, Modi reflected on the significance of the BJP’s first government in West Bengal, recalling the invaluable contributions of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. He assured that every effort would be made to fulfill Mukherjee’s vision.
Modi shared his experience of meeting Sarkar, a staunch nationalist who worked alongside Mukherjee and was even arrested in Jammu and Kashmir. He praised Sarkar for dedicating his life to the party and expanding its base across West Bengal, inspiring people from all walks of life to join.
Additionally, Modi congratulated newly sworn-in ministers Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Kshudiram Tudu, and Nishith Pramanik, acknowledging their tireless efforts at the grassroots level. He expressed confidence that these leaders would further strengthen West Bengal’s development journey.
