New Delhi, February 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the need to strengthen the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership. The two leaders engaged in extensive discussions on enhancing cooperation in future technologies, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence (AI), supercomputing, and investments in data centers.

Their meeting took place during the AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi. This marks the Crown Prince’s second official visit to India, following his previous trip in September 2024.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi took to social media platform X to share that their discussions were fruitful. Both nations agreed to accelerate collaboration in AI, supercomputing, and investments in data centers in India.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the leaders expressed satisfaction with the significant progress made in bilateral relations across various sectors, including defense and security, trade and investment, education, and cultural cooperation. They also noted that February 18, 2026, marked four years since the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), during which bilateral trade and investment saw remarkable growth.

Both sides appreciated the bilateral investment flow and encouraged UAE sovereign wealth funds to continue investing in the Indian economy. Discussions also included the potential of new sovereign funds like ‘L’Imad.’ Furthermore, opportunities for collaboration in strategic sectors such as space, nuclear energy, technology, and innovation were explored.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in health and medicine between India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention was finalized. This agreement aims to promote professional exchanges, institutional cooperation, research, digital health, pharmaceuticals, and the development of modern health technologies.

Additionally, the finalization of a term sheet for deploying a supercomputer cluster in India, involving the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), G42, and Mohammed bin Zayed University of AI, was welcomed. This supercomputer cluster will be part of the ‘AI India Mission’ and will be available for research, application development, and commercial use in both public and private sectors.

The leaders also welcomed the establishment of the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company office in Gujarat’s GIFT City.

The Crown Prince congratulated Prime Minister Modi on the success of the AI Impact Summit, while Modi welcomed the initiative to host the next AI summit in Switzerland, followed by the UAE.
