New Delhi : After taking out an impressive road show in his constituency Varanasi for the last and the seventh phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, once again, surprised everybody by breaking the protocol late Friday evening.
He concluded the road show by performing puja at Kashi Vishwanath Dham temple. Thereafter, the Prime Minister reached Pappu’s tea stall located at the famous Assi Square in Varanasi. The shopkeeper enquired about the choice of the Prime Minister.
In response, the PM demanded a Banarasi special tea. He enjoyed the tea in a kulhad leaving the cheering crowd surprised there. People raised slogans of Har Har Mahadev and Jai Shree Ram. The Prime Minister waived to the cheering crowd gathered around the shop.
He appreciated the tea and sipped three kulhad one after another. After enjoying the tea, the Prime Minister reached at a nearby paan shop, he enjoyed a paan and enquired about the well being of the shop owner. The PM also blessed the shopkeeper by placing his hand on the shopkeeper’s head. After enjoying the Banarasi paan, Narendra Modi reached his guest house. He took rest for a while and moved out to visit the streets of Kashi. The PM inspected the Varanasi Cantt railway station.
He visited the VIP lounge there and interacted with passengers. Later, the Prime Minister inspected the Khidkiya Ghat located on the northern corner of Banaras. It has been developed only sometime back. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi took out a three kilometer long roadshow for nearly three hours on the roads of Kashi. The seventh phase of polling in UP will be held on March 7. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
