Srinagar, April 22 : A i Party President Altaf Bukhari on Friday said that peace and tranquility were of utmost importance for the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed grief over the incident in which an officer lost his life and many others were injured during an encounter in Sunjwan area of Jammu district on Friday. Two militants were also killed in the encounter by security forces. The A i Party chief said that violence and militancy have ruined the prosperity of people of Jammu and Kashmir and it has drawn its worst impact on the social and economic fabric of the on Territory. “Since the encounter took place just a couple of days ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Samba district, it is a clear indication that the militants are hell-bent on destroying the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and Kashmir,” Bukhari said. The A i Party chief said such incidents will not hinder the peace process in UT. Bukhari appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain communal harmony and not allow incidents of violence harm the mutual brotherhood. QAB RJ
