Patwari Caught Red-Handed

Dungarpur, September 16 (Patrika English News). The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested Hemant Bunkar, a Patwari of Gamda Brahmania circle in Dungarpur district, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹5,000.

Patwari Caught Red-Handed

According to ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava, a complaint was filed stating that the complainant owned ancestral land in Gamda Brahmania village, where his sister’s name was jointly recorded in the revenue records. To remove her name and transfer the land in the names of the complainant and his mother, the Patwari had allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹10,000.

On August 27, the ACB verified the demand and confirmed the allegations. Acting under the supervision of Prahlad Singh Krishnia, DIG, Udaipur Range, a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ratansingh Rajpurohit laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting ₹5,000 from the complainant.

The accused has been taken into custody, and interrogation is underway. ACB officials are also conducting a search at his residence. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is in progress.
