New Delhi, 6 December (Daily Kiran) – Patanjali Yogpeeth, led by yoga guru Swami Ramdev, and the Russian government have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote wellness, yoga, Ayurveda, and spiritual exchanges between India and Russia.
The agreement was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India by Baba Ramdev, patron of the Patanjali group, and Sergey Cheremin, Russian Commerce Minister and Chairman of the India-Russia Business Council.
Addressing the media, Swami Ramdev said the MoU aims to deepen cooperation in wellness, yoga, Ayurveda, spiritual exchanges, and skilled labour mobility between the two countries. He stated, “Health is a need for everyone. We will offer Indian yoga, Ayurveda, natural medicine, and integrated treatments to Russians. This is a significant call for humanity. We will work together for wellness and open wellness centres in Moscow and across Russia.”
Sergey Cheremin expressed Russia’s interest in promoting a healthy lifestyle and sports while strengthening cultural, spiritual, and humanitarian ties. He said, “This is why we signed the agreement. I am grateful to the group for acting as promoters in Russia. For example, yoga is very popular in Moscow but not across the entire country.”
Notably, under the Prime Minister’s Skill Development Scheme, Patanjali has successfully trained over 200,000 people. Following the MoU, Patanjali will supply skilled yogis and trained workers to Russia. The agreement also includes promoting leading Indian brands in Russia and bringing Russian brands to India. Patanjali is ready to introduce its world-class products to Russian consumers.
