Passport Lok Adalat to Resolve Pending Cases in Ghaziabad

The Regional Passport Office in Ghaziabad has taken a significant step to expedite the resolution of pending passport applications by organising a special Passport Lok Adalat. This initiative aims to provide a swift, transparent, and citizen-centric solution to long-pending passport cases, reducing unnecessary hassles for applicants.

The Passport Lok Adalat is scheduled for 30 January, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at Room Number 320 in the Regional Passport Office, Ghaziabad, located near Hapur Chungi, Kamla Nehru Nagar. During this session, direct hearings will be conducted on various pending passport matters, and eligible cases will be resolved on the spot.

Regional Passport Officer Anuj Swaroop, an officer of the Indian Foreign Service, will personally attend the event. He will engage directly with applicants to understand their issues and provide solutions within the regulatory framework.

Officials believe that the presence of a senior officer will not only speed up case resolutions but also strengthen applicants’ trust in the process. Anuj Swaroop informed that this Lok Adalat is being organised as per the guidelines of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Given the limited time, around 50 applicants’ files will be addressed during the session. Each case will be thoroughly reviewed to identify and resolve issues such as document deficiencies, police verification delays, technical errors, or other reasons causing pendency.

The primary objective of this initiative is to deliver passport-related services with greater speed, transparency, and accountability. Delays in passport issuance can cause difficulties for citizens in travel, education, and employment, making this Lok Adalat an important benefit for the public.

The Regional Passport Office has urged eligible applicants to attend the Lok Adalat at the designated time and place with all necessary documents to take advantage of this opportunity. This step is being seen as a positive move towards improving communication between the administration and citizens.
